I'm referring to the bump stops with in the coils. I was thinking of cutting them a notch thinking it might help the rebound problem I have right now. I'm probably going to order some new shocks after Xmas but I was thinking this might help a little...Any thoughts??

Are you referring to the rear coil spring isolators on a 96-02 4Runner? You don't want to remove them as they cushion a bottoming out of the supsension should it happen. The rebound problem occurs because of both poor spring rates and shock dampening characteristics. If you want a better ride out of the rear of your truck you should replace both the springs and shocks.

There are replacement bump stops for the rear that are located directly above the axle on each side that can help with softening the bottoming out.
