2 thumbs up for Sprayway glass cleaner

So this isn't earth shattering information, but it's still good to know, especially to those of you who are anal about your rigs. I picked up a can of Sprayway Glass Cleaner at NAPA the other day. Never heard of the stuff, had no idea what it was (besides a glass cleaner), but I needed some, so...

They had 2 types of glass cleaner, one with ammonia and one without (Sprayway). I don't know why I'd want ammonia, or why I wouldn't want it, but logic told me that the only reason someone would make a cleaner without ammonia was if someone somewhere had a problem with it. So I chose the cautious route and got the glass cleaner without ammonia.

Used it for the first time last night. Was pleasantly surprised to find out that it is a foamy spray, not a straight liquid (like Windex). This makes it much less likely to run. I used it on the inside to clean off nose prints from my dogs. Worked very well. Decided to use it on the windshield as well to try and clean off some of the dead bugs that have accumulated there recently. The stuff worked amazingly well. No "scrubbing"... spray it on, wipe it off, dry it. Seems to dry without any streaking too.

I'm very impressed with this stuff so far.

yeah, that stuff is good. Definitely easier to use than the liquid kind.

I heard somewhere that glass cleaner with ammonia will cause window tint to fade/turn purple. I don't know whether that's true, but it might be why they offer two varieties.

ammonia breaks down the glue in window tint and will cause it to fall off over time. (ammonia actually works very good for removing old window tint)

The stuff that I use is Stoner's Invisible Glass (AutoZone, PepBoys, etc..). It works extremely well!

Actually Honda has this window cleaner that is like a spray with foam, sort of the same thing, and it works well in cleaning windows with no streaking!

I think amonia was originally put in products to help streaking but I'd have to agree with it eating at glue. I use that on my floors and it eats the crap right off lol.

I bought a similar product at wal mart and I really like it. The foam kind. Works good and doesn't smell bad.

Costco sells Sprayaway in 3 packs for about $5, FYI.

Sprayaway is what we used when I professionally detailed cars. I have used it ever since. Great stuff!

The window cleaner from zep is really good, I don't remember having something it couldn't get off or having it streak.
