91 4runner rear heater question

Well my 4runners rear heater is not blowing out hot air.The fan is working and the coolant is full so I was thinking it was the rear heater core.It does not leak or anything so I am kinda stumped.Could it just be clogged?

quick stupid question....Is the heat positioner all the way to HOT.....

if you crawl under your rig you can see the coolant tubes runnin back and then into the cab, they could be dented and blocked,

Yeah it is all the way on hot.I got undernieth and I didn't see any dents but I could have missed something.

The lines are almost rediculously small that feed the rear heater, and they clogg rather easily in my opinion. I had to take them out and remove a major blockage. It's kinda like trying to unwire your house then put it back. Good luck with it though.

Just out of curiosity, since you live in a warm climate, why would you go to the trouble of fixing it? I'm a northerner and rarely have used mine since 1990...

Just my 2 cents...

because it's almost winter and we usually get about 6-7 feet of snow and I have two kids that ride in the back.

Try turning the rear heater on and letting it run for 10-15 min while driving. When I first bought my runner, the rear heater wasn't blowing hot air either - so I let it run for a while the first time it works just fine now. I love the rear heater, it's a nice way to warm up the truck on long drives (or whenever) without having hot air blowing directly on you.

I tried that too but it still doesn't want to work.I think it's probably clogged so I'll take it out and see.

That was going to be my suggestion. Mine takes awhile to heat up, I am guessing 5-10 minutes. I am not sure why, but it just does. Now you say that you tried that already, so I am also guessing it may be clogged. Goodluck and keep us informed. :fireman:
