Where do I find the code for my stock stereo. I don't have a manual, this radio came with the rolled runner i just bought and i want to put it in my 90 4runner. Any ideas.

 

when i bought my runner, my radio didnt work. i just took it to the dealer and they fixed it for me with that code you are referring to.

 

I went to the dealer shortly after I bought my 2001 (used) Runner and I was told by a service tech that unless the security code has been programmed into the radio, there is no need to worry about trying to obtain it from the dealer as it simply does not exist. I tested that theory last weekend when I removed my stock unit and test-fit a new HU. When I put the stock unit back into the truck, there was no need to enter any code so I guess that a code was not programmed into the radio to begin with. Hope that helps.

BTW, I have the factory Toyota 3-in-1 6 disc changer in my '01.

It says it in the owners manual.
I believe that the original code is 111.

Let me run down to my 'Runner and check in a few minutes.

Edit: I looked in my manual and it didn't say anything about a default code. So I guess there isn't one (this is for a 97)
