How long are 99 Tacoma 4WD running?

I have a 99 Tacoma Ext Cab 4WD manual V6 that I purchased new.

Have and use a good mechanic to follow all the Toyota Recommended maintenance.

Truck has 149,000 miles on it and is running just great. I use Castrol regular oil changing it close to every 3,000 miles.

I do a lot of highway miles.

I just wonder when I will need to start looking for another truck.

Sure do wish Toyota USA would bring in the Diesel Tacoma trucks like I found on a British Web site.

Wonder if there is a diesel conversion for my truck out there, when and if the V6 goes. The truck itself is holding up great.

Thanks for any feedback or comments

As I just posted in another thread, I had a lady call me about a 00 I was selling and she said she had 278K miles on her 97 4Runner (same motor as you). It was still going strong, but she wanted something with less miles. Oh yeah, it was the original clutch!

149k miles? Remember we're dealing with a Toyota. Toyota's superior metalurgy will have that motor running for an easy 300k miles if you change the oil regularly as you say you do. If you were dealing with some domestic crap I'd say you were well past due for a new motor at 149k miles... a tranny too. But don't fret, you have a Toyota and you don't have to worry about such things.

It's a Toyota, don't sell it short.. Just when other car manufactures are wearing down (90K), Toyota is just getting broken in...
