yikes....try to take it out when not towing....my ex girlfriend was a nurse at a hospital and she said that everyday at least one person would come in and need tons of stitches from walking into a hitch hanging out of the back of someones truck in a parking lot esp. during the holiday season....unfortuniately the elderly people would usually break bones from the fall afterward.....of course most of those hitches were on big pickups and hang out a foot or so, I dunno how far yours hangs out but its just something to keep in mind.....if I walked into a hitch although being my fault you'd probably find the hitch laying in your driver seat entered via front windshield....heheh

It's a class III if it's a 2" x 2" box. But don't go by the class III rating to determine what you can tow. Follow the manufacturer's recommended maximum rating. I've seen a number of instances where a class III hitch was installed on a vehicle that should have had a class II or even class I.
Ditto on removing the receiver when not in use. I refer to them as shin busters. Definately NOT fun to walk into...

and dont remove it to keep others from walking into it, well that would be good too.... but just think, i would remove my own becasue i would walk into it..... countless times i work on customers trucks at work and in that environment, you see the body lines, you dotn always see the drawbar sticking out or the brushbar protrusins....
