Any 2nd Gen gone 300 miles on one tank?

I got real close yesterday but I chickened out at 287 miles.
I can't recall one time that I've made the 300 mile mark in 10 years.
I'm sure someone has because of a monster tailwind, but I'm curious if it's has happened. Don't tell me you would or could make it to 300, just that you have. Or maybe it's easy and my truck just can't cut the mustard.

I get over 300 every time I'm on a highway trip. My record is 330 but that was very scary. Around town it's more like 270. My mods might help a little though.

I think I have gone over 300, but that is with my 3.4L engine swap that gets about 20 mpg on the highway. I got around 19mpg while towing a 2000lb. trailer. Alot better then the 14mpg I was getting with the 3.0L.

My '90 got 19-21 mpg, but I usually would fill it when it got between 1/2 and 3/4 empty since I only pass 2 gas stations on a long ride to work (hilly, country backroads). If I recall, it had an 18 gallon tank like my '00 does. Doing the math, I guess I was getting about 360 miles per tank. I filled it with around 320 miles on the trip odometer (from the previous fill) many times.

I recently went over the hill to Denver and with going over and driving around and then coming back to GJ and driving around I used up two tanks of gas. Both refills took right at 13.5 gallons and I went right at 350 miles each time.
I was pretty surprised. I have been getting around 24-25mpg out of this little 22re, but I expected to have a big loss of economy going over the passes. I had it screaming most of the time. I'd love to have more ponies under the hood, but 25mpg out of a 4x4 is hard to pi$$ and moan about!
My pointless not going to happen under hood fantasies: 22re 94mm pistons, stroker and supercharger OR 3.4l OR 7mge with the stroker kit. I really like the idea of the 7mge with the stroker. Just sounds like something nobody else has and it would provide quite sufficient horsepower/torque for my needs/wants.

Man I'm envious, but also amazed. For only being rated for 14 city 16 Hwy how or why are your getting 20 mpg and well over 20mpg?
Also what is the 22RE mpg rating?

I've got a 94 bone stock 5speed 3.0 with about 108kmiles and 31s that usually gets 320-340 miles per tank. That's usually about 1/2 freeway half city here in KY/TN/VA area....not the most mountainous but sure not flat either.

Seems like no matter what I do I can only go 250 miles--but I do have 4.88 gears, so I am sure that has something to do with it--running at 3000rpm's at 70 mph eats gas.

Marc I am glad you came in with numbers closer to mine...I get maybe 220 per tank mixed driving. Any more than that and I get scared. Then again 33's and 5.29's don't help.. It is something in the socal gas, not our trucks!! Honest...

most I've ever got to a tank was like 220, but the most it's ever taken when it looked REALLY empty was 12.1 (wasn't the tank I got 220 on though)

sooo I dunno how big my tank really is, 15gal? if so then I could drive a lot more before I really need to fill it... normally when it looks like I have maybe 1/8th tank left it takes 11 gal or so

I don't know if the gas is different in CA but im only getting between 14 and 16 on my runner. its got 185k on it and ive got a k&n but otherwise it just likes to suck gas. I'd love to get around twenty mpg especially when im payin about $2 a gal here in sacramento. And ive never gone over 230 on a tank but ive never put in more than fifteen gallons when filling up. Is it supposed to be a 17 gallon tank??
