is your "intake resonator" the same thing as "intake silencer" of the famed ISR Mod? if so, are you sure that little plastic box is the silencer? i thought the silencer was the steel unit that comes just down the line from that plastic box, before the throttle body. But I usually don't know ˟˟˟˟. I need a hanes or chilton.

also, whats with the red wires?

Just trying to get my truck fully grounded. I was inspired by this article. http://www.caraudiomag.com/testreports/0401cae_hyper/

Well i have the metal one too and the removable plastic one. Both to me seems to serve no purpose. However I am just as unclear as you as i need chiltons as backup reference =).

i think the chaps down at the stealorship told me that the plastic was a moisture knock-out unit. but i cant remember (CRS).

did you get a big sound increase with the plastic box out? thanks for the pics-

close to stock so far. K&N filtercharger, intake elbow removal, electric fan. i plan to fill out the intake with ISR and polished TB. then headers and catback. that will be it for me, performance-wise.

otherwise, also did the grey wire mod. gonna put an oil filter relocator in there pretty quick, and go to synthetic fluids all around. got 80K miles in 4 years so far, want this puppy to go the distance. cheers!

i just looked at this today, and it doesnt look easy, its really tight to get in there, and i couldnt even find where it bolts to. my OEM replacement looks different too. personally, it just looks like a really hard mod to do.
the dealer told me its even hard for them and thats why they charge 80 for install.

im still debating if i want to tackle this myself or just pay for it...

Yeah I'm not sure I want to tackle this one by myself either. Could I just take it to a Jiffy Lube, or a place like that, and get them to do it?

A friend of mines and I tackled the fuel filter on my runner! so far So good.

There are 2 mounting nuts and of course 2 banjo nuts to loosen!. Not much gas loss. Maybe 4ounces?

Its best to have a small ratchet. And a jack to lift it up. Take off tire from driver side and remove the rubber coverings from the wheel well and work on it. It took about 1hr 15mins with 2 people who never done it But its possible As long as your paitient its do-able! cheers
