I need to replace the Tie-rods, Pitman and Idler arms on my 92 p/u. I was wondering if anyone makes them aftermarket. I want something stronger than the OE parts. Thanks!

Thanks Joshik! That's gonna save me about $100!!!!!! I didn't know I could just rebuild it. And of course the shop didn't mention it.

I am also replacing my tie-rod ends. Will I need replace the adjuster sleeve or can I re-use the old sleeve. I have also heard about about after market sleeves from Fab-Tech. Is it worth buying and where can I find them?

Yet another ? I looked at my idler arm and...
When turning the wheel the arm doesn't rub the frame. But you can see that it has rubbed at the bottom of the frame during articulation. Do I need to replace the whole unit or can I just re-build it? Thanks!

 

As long as the sleeve is not marred on the tie rod, then I would just re-use it, since those are not what commonly fails. If you have any rubbage due to the idler arm, by all means replace it, sine it keeps the centerlink from being able to move up/down.The weak link I have seen on the Ifs part of the steering, is the idler breaking, and what a POS to deal with on the trail(my advice, replace it and carry old one as a spare)
