6" 4Runner suspension lift

Today I saw a 2000 4x4 Tacoma with the 6" fabtech suspension lift. It looked awesome.

Now I know 3rd gen 4runners share the same front suspension components...

How come I have not seen any 4runners with the fabtech front suspension, and 3 inch spacers + 3.5" downey coils in the rear?

I would imagine you would need new longer CV's, and then a pretty large panhard drop bracket in the back, but, what else is keeping you gnarly 4runner owners to go that big? Obviously its not very practical for off-roading in most cases, but, I would imagine someone would want to go that big, just in the way of suspension and not body lifting.

I am pretty sure that lift is a diff. drop so it retains the stock CV angles, it just lowers the whole suspension down 6". You still have the stock ammount of travel.

Yeah, It certainly looks that way from the pictures and the tacoma I saw today.

But, then, still the question, why doesn't anyone have it on their 4runner?!

The tacoma lift some with a front cross member drop or somthing like that. Some girant @$$ reinforcment thing. I have the potenial to go big now. But Im to poor to be the guinney pig. Mine is 2wd. I got the downey rear 3.5 and a revtek spacer on the side. I could just buy the Tacoma front kit over at 4wheel parts. But that would mean a bigger set of tires and rims. I cant afford that now.

BTW as you can tell I cant spell

I think Breezey was running that before his SAS. I am not sure which brand he ran though.

breezy had the pro comp 4" with downey coilovers cranked up to 3" in the front and an all pro leaf conversion in the rear. It looked sweet. I was thinking about doing it. 4wheelparts quoted me about $1000 for the front 4" pro comp kit, but I'd still have to buy stuff for the rear. I decided not to do it because 33's and 5" with the revtek and roger brown work fine. I'd rather spend my money on bumpers and protection. Just my 2 cents.

The main reason you probably dont see that many with the 6" lift is because you would need new links in the rear to be capable of handling that much lift.

Hey SC I live on Oahu, my girl is from the Big Island. As for doing the lift, dont think I havent contemplated doing it. It has crossed my mind many times. The main reason Im avoiding it is the cost of the tires. I need some fat tires in rims in order to do that. I was looking at weld 16x12.5s with some 35" tires. That alone was over $2.5k.

No one has it because it is worthless.

The rear links would have to be completely redone. Not to mention anyone considering a lift like that for the front is likely not capable of converting the rear to leaves.

So a front tacoma bracket lift WILL work on the corresponding year 4runner? My girlfriend doesnt do hard core wheelin but alot of snow and dunes. We want to put 35's under her 99runner. i am totally capable of the rear spring swap.
just want a solid answer on how compatable the tacoma bracket lift is with a 4runner.(front end only/ i know i will have to convert the rear to leaf springs)
yes i know we will need to regear and all that other mumbo jumbo. Just want to know about campatability. I was thinkin about the SAS but she just doesnt need it.

Oh and I have FJ80 coils and .5" spacers in the rear. The Tacoma bracket lifts fit with only a few drilling of holes
