They are built out of 3/16" wall materials as well as the outer tube. Plenty strong we used a harbour freight tube bender for the bends. My friend has a Miller 220V welder so welding these on was cake.

Updated pics they are now painted I think I spent about 30 min per slider sanding them down to get rid of surface rust. I used rustoleum ultra flat black on them. They turned out pretty good.

Sweet man,
I got mine on yesterday. Let me know how that paint holds up. I just used some regular flat rustoleum (whatever) stuff. I heard there was some really good stuff that held up better, but I can't think of what it is now... does anyone know?

mine comes off kind-of easy but... its a rattle can, its not hard to put it back I might try to roll on some bed liner on the tops of the outer tubes but... thats later down the line. It would just make it easier for all the chicks that get in and out of my rig to do so... you know how it goes...

Thanks I guess they don't look too bad for $50 sliders. I did some of the work so I can say I made about 1/2 of them.

The only real issues with them so far it's wierd to have the extra weight from the 3/16" material the 4 runner feels alot heavier. The only thing I can see being a problem with the extra weight is the IFS I will probably more prone to bending idlers now not that I am not prone to bending them already. I had previous sliders on another truck made from .120 tube and they faired pretty well.

Looks great! How did you attach to the frame? Got any close-ups of that? I have had good luck with Dupli-color Truck bed spray in the rattle cans. Also you can top coat it with SEM Chip Guard in a rattle can. That is what I used on this bumper http://community.webshots.com/photo/...87536658rVHJHT

Its all in the prep work though, I sand blasted first. Just about any paint will stick good to a sand blasted surface.
