Bridgestone Dueler A/T vs. Dueler A/T REVO??

What is better about the revo? Is the tread as agressive on the Revo as the standard dueler a/t?

Also, has anybody put 275/70r16s on a stock tacoma?? Any reason not to?

Gonna go order them at Costco today.....

thanks.

I don't know the difference between the two, but I'd go REVO... I was lookin at new tires on the tire rack and the Revo's had awesome reviews... check it out:

Have them...love them. Best A/T wet traction I have ever had. Stick like glue. Plus they look great!

My understanding is that the Revo is a more modern design with different rubber compounds.

Both are good tires.

i work for bridgestone/firestone.... both of them are excellent tires.... they are on par with the upper expense tires in its class... i would personally go with some general mud terrains, but im wierd and poor like that the revos are a lot newer technology and excel in any terrain versus the standart a/t... its actually the dueler a/ts replacement, however, the a/t is still produced, just in lower quantities now.....

I wanted the revos also becuse of the recomendations here and on 4x4wire; however, I ended up w/ the standard at's (thats what they had) and couldnt be happier.
They have gone where alot of people said they wouldnt.
But.... Ive heard alot of great things about mt's and at's that sell for alot less$$$ so in the future I will be exploring these options, money aside I buy what works albeit expensive or cheap not that im a genius but Id listen to all tire reccomendations coming off this board.

If I recall correctly, when I worked at Firestone a few years back. Don't the Revo's have the UNI-T AQ? It has something to do with having the same quality of traction as the tread wears down. Something I can't say about BFG A/T's, once those wear down about 50%, they lose a lot of road traction.

DON'T GO BFG... I've had BFGoodrich tires on the buicks, and I'm stuck with them right now on my truck... all of them acted the same way, great on dry asphalt, but horrible to scary wet traction.

I have almost 40k miles on my REVO's and the only thing that I can say negative about them is that I don't think they're going to make it to the 50k rating. I rotate and balance every 5-8k, keep them at about 32 psi and I'm not a very aggressive driver. Otherwise, they're about as perfect a tire for my type of driving and terrain as a tire can be.

Who cares if you don't quite make it;your next set will be prorated so you'll have a little money. Also I've been told by several Toyota mechanics to rotate the tires every 4k saying something about the front ends never seem to align really gret on a 4Runner. Waiting til 8k even only a few times is a bit long between rotations especially with A/T tires.

Are you sure? I thought the Dueler AT 684 only had the Uni-T and no AQ (which is the enhanced traction when it wears down). When I worked there only select Potenza's and the Turanza's had the AQ. Of course that was over 4 years ago. :pat:

I looked hard at these but ultimately chose the Toyo Open Country AT and love them. Essentially these are the top two tires based on reviews, and the Toyo's had a better mileage warranty. Got mine from a shop that carried both -- they were willing to match any price (even online) and were adamant that Toyo makes a better tire...

I've been so happy with my Toyo T1-S tires on my Miata that it was an easy decision. Still, I doubt you could find anyone unhappy with the Revos because I'm sure they are just as good.
