I really want a landcruiser. What kind of gas mileage do these get? Thanks again.

12 city 15 highway. I was looking at that one also. It doesn't appear to have the more desirale options - sunroof, CD player, and most importantly front and rear lockers.

Beautiful truck. No question. I love the 80 model and hope to find a nice one someday myself.
The mass airflow sensor appears to be a junkyard piece, rather than new though.

Decent truck, for that kind of price w/no lockers I'd say its a good deal. Make sure the major maintenance is done. The front diff. service alone could run you $1000.

This is what I used when I went shopping for my 80.

The appearance of that truck is amazing. Interior and exterior. I agree that the MAF is a junkyard piece. It is easier to put in ARB lockers on an unlocked truck so you have to factor that if you will 4 wheel it. Also - the price is climbing rapidly today- may be very expensive in 2 days. I noticed another one on the East coast with a buy me price of 11k - has lockers and every option plus its a 96 (it has more miles tho).

Actually its more expensive to add the ARB lockers than to have the OEM lockers. Check out this FZJ80, no lockers but looks better.

What I meant is that I've read that it is very costly to add the factory lockers to an unlocked truck - and at that point ARB lockers are easier/cheaper to install. Obviously getting it from the factory is the way to go as these trucks have proven themselves in the most remote areas.

I was thinking more along the lines of adding a vehicle. I've driven a couple of Sequoias and 4th gen 4Runners. Sequoia has a lot of space but driving it I wasn't very impressed. 4Runner was nice but its expensive for what it is. Ideally - the older LC has great offroad attributes and similar size to the Sequoia.

That's pretty much why I want one...My '95 is feeling small when it's loaded for a trip. I can get old LC's for less money than I paid for this 4Runner 6 years ago and most of them have no hard offroad miles. I still get Toyota quality, with less of the plastic crap. It comes with lockers at both ends, so really, it's better prepared for than my 4Runner is.

But I have to live with and auto tranny and and gas mileage almost as bad as the 429ci I had in a '69 Mercury Convertible.

OT.... kinda....

The TRD S/C DOES NOT increase your gas mileage... well... it should, but it's so freakin' hard to keep the rpm's down and out of boost... tee hee hee... I love my 95, and it runs circle's around my 96' 4Runner...

I could buy a LOT of gas for the $3500 for that SC. Heck, I'm used to slow already. I'd just be losing 4mpg.

The 80 is a great vehicle...

However, it is a tank (good thing), not very aerodynamic, and likes gas stations. Just saying don't complain about the gas. That's not why people buy them.

They are however one of the most well built rigs to come straight from the factory.

But, as the others have said get the electric lockers. Don't settle saying that this one is cheaper. I have seen it from many people that regret not getting the lockers. It is cheaper to wait for the right one with lockers than to get one without.

There, I will get off my soapbox now.

Check out that info from www.sleeoffroad.com

great guy and will not steer you wrong.
