PIAA 12v Horn.....Thats right...PIAA

I have been needing to replace my "ROAD RUNNER" sounding horn with somthing a bit more.....Persuasive .

My cousin got in his PIAA dealer catalog and I ran across a 12v replacement horn they make! They claim 115db. I beleive that trains are 125db. It should be here within the week.

Anyone ever installed these?

I know some have installed the Hella Super Tones, and have liked them! Hope these will be the equivilant!

115db is a lot less than 125db. I believe that for every 3db, the loundness is doubled or something like that. I read it on the net somewhere, I'll see if I can find it again.

found it

So how much was the PIAA labeled horn? I am assuming that because it says PIAA on it, it is going to be much more expensive than something else that would do the same job.

It's on there. Check under "What's new". Part #85110. Let us know when you get it and how loud it is 4runner1988.

Well got the horns installed...in about 10 min......had to take the grill off and remove the stock horn.......then mounted the new horns. They were too deep to place in the stock location, they would have not allowed for grill replacement. So I mounted them lower behind the bumper. They are package for dual horn replacement.....so I had to make two jumper wires for the additional horn.

One is a 400mhz and the other a 500mhz. High and Low. I tested them seperate....the low sounds like a train and the high like a trumpet. Together they produce a much deeper and louder tone than the stocker. They are noticeably louder! Very attention getting!

I am pleased.........thats my .02.
