3vze Oil Capacity

My book says 4.8 Quarts for a oil change with Filter.

I've just rebuilt my 3.Slow with oil cooler - and so far I've put in 6 Quarts and it's in the middle of the range on the dipstick.

Any explanation?

did you put the drain plug back in? hmmm I have no clue as to where that extra oil is going in a dry rebuilt motor that has never had any oil in it and that you put an aftermarket oil cooler and lines in.
