If any of you have been following my posts lately, I have had a bit of an ordeal rebuilding my 3.0 . It was to replace a headgasket, but turned into new heads, PS pump, gaskets, TPS, and mods: headers, exhuast. I just want to say a big, no HUGE THANKYOU!

These are the folks who gave me some or lots of info and made my life much easier.

Glad to see your engine is alive again. Not much beats that feeling when an engine fires up after a rebuild, until that point you never know if you've screwed up somewhere.

 

Yeah, well.... The engine cranked, and I was getting spark, but nothing. The engine would stumble a couple of times then die. I readjusted the TPS 3 times, checked everything over again. No go. Then I realized that when I installed the distributor, the rotor turned backwards about 10-15 degrees. I readjusted it and PRESTO! Heheheheheh. The knots in my stomach went away, and one of the biggest smiles I think I ever have had lit up on my face. I've torn down VW engines before, but nothign like this. It feels really good.

 

You have to watch those distributors, the first time I put one back in a Honda engine I got it 180 deg out, major panic until I figured that out

 

How good is it running now? Any major issues?

 

Didn't seem to do any harm, it wasn't running for very long like that.
This was a '76 Civic many years ago, so it's probably not running at all now.
