Hey guys I have a 1986 Toyota 4Runner efi and it’s been sitting for 5 years and couldn’t figure out the problem why it would start then die a second later. I have found a solution. Could be different for you but I’ll list some fixes. 1. Make sure it is right ecm and right injectors for right year, I had this problem with mine, dude before me put wrong ecm for wrong injectors and would start truck won’t run with ecm being different year than injectors. 2. Mass air flow sensor, I know you probably heard this some where else but check maf sensor. 3. Make sure fuel pump turns on when turning over (turn over ignition without pushing in clutch) if no fuel pump worky then change circuit opening relay 4. Check main efi relays. 5. And lastly but still likely check coil. Thank you for reading this hope it helps!
