Intake tube not CA compliant

I bought this 91 3.0 pickup that has an aftermarket intake tube. Pic below. The smog guy failed me because the intake doesn't have a part number so he could verify ARB compliance.

Does anybody have a source for the intake tube (downstream of the air handler) that is ARB compliant? It has two connectors for air recirc. There are lots of them on Ebay, but none claim compliance.

Alternatively, anybody know of a shop in Central Coast CA that will pass this truck without me spending a fortune? Between Lompoc and SLO...

I know my solution is horrid, but I'd make the drive to a PYP (check their website inventory first) and pull the oem system off another 3vze with the same setup. A smog inspection isn't an isolated incident, you're gonna need it again.
That tube didn't do anything of performance value, I'm guessing they installed it to clean up the piping under the hood.

I commend the smog tech for doing the right thing. kudos to them

I just contacted the previous owner. He still has the stock intake system and is shipping it to me. I agree that these intakes add nothing to performance and just make it louder.

Now I still have to figure out why the tailpipe sniff results were so horrible.

Moving out of Cali is a good way to not have problems like that.

Put in the Denso or NGK plugs recommended. Don’t get an “upgrade” sparkplug, stick to what Toyota recommends . I avoid the sparkplugs with the screw on terminals. They always loosen up. The solid core plugs are just better. Same with cap and rotor, make sure it’s Denso.
Denso wire sets are good, but Toyota wire sets are a bit better. The Yazaki cord used in the oem wire set is stronger, stiffer, and seems more durable.
Check timing. I’ve posted on how to set TPS using a timing light. The same method should work on yours. Base timing is different, but the method is the same.
look around for anything else missing or modified, or a off brand. I don’t like Bosch on Toyotas.

Failing a smog test often means your vehicle is operating at non optimal levels, Calif. smog or not. Sure, tests are a pain, but it’s often how you find out about issues that really do need to be addressed.

edit: Some try to remedy the situation by making further modifications. It rarely works. The best thing right now is to get the engine back to factory stock as much as possible, especially with items related to emisssions and ignition.
I’m in Goleta if you need anything

Excellent advice. I got a referral to a shop that is supposed to be expert in these trucks. I live in a farming area, and the workers have these by the thousands. I can work on some things, but these "tuneup" issues are a mystery to me.
Cheers,
Rick

You're missing at least 3 major parts. You can see them on this dealer site: https://parts.lakelandtoyota.com/sho...rimLevel=18380 Unfortunately, at least one of them (17861 on the diagram) is no longer available. The part labeled 17881 is available from RockAuto (some versions less than $10!). Which is good as that part is subject to engine vibration and is more likely to fail than the others. For the other parts, you need to try a salvage yard.
