86 4runner 4low smoke and high rpm stuttering

Just got my 4r back from shop, put new engine and tranny in. when i accelerate to high rpms it feels like it misfires or studders. tonight i took it down to an easy trail, all was good until i put it into 4low and started going up a slant and from somewhere it started smoking. not sure what is going on so if anybody could shed some light that would be great

I've got a problem with my 22r smoking on steep hills. I think it's related to the 2 row timing chain and modified valve cover baffle from lce. I think oil gets slung on top of the baffle, then gets sucked through the pcv valve on inclines. Just a theory at this point. What timing chain / valve cover are you running?
