1992 pickup 22re no start has fuel and spark
Hello. My truck started up fine (was very cold out and I didn’t warm it up) and drove down the road, shut it off and went into work. When I came out it cranks fine but won’t start. I heard one little pop with a cylinder firing and then sounds like there is no fuel and won’t start , but I checked the fuel pump has power, sounds normal, and there is plenty of pressure at the cold start injector banjo bolt.. there is a a normal looking spark.
I was running on a gallon or two of gas so was worried about having burned out the fuel pump but there is so much pressure I don’t think it’s that.
Do the fuel filters on these ever get so plugged that it could cause this? Any other ideas? There’s a lot of threads on this.. I have tried just about everything I can think of recommended, it’s a fairly new engine and while I haven’t checked the compression highly doubt anything would’ve happened there. Thanks for any advice you can offer.

I would recommend seeing what the fuel pressure really is. Put a fuel pressure tester on it and check that or you could see if it will start on starting fluid if it does then you have a fuel issue. I wouldn't rule out it having something going on inside the engine just because it's "NEW" you would be amazed at all of the "NEW" parts I've gotten over the years that are defective right out of the box

Do ignition switches ever go bad
Do the ignition switches ever go bad on these trucks? If it cranks, there are sparks, fuel, and the air is not restricted, could it be a bad ignition switch? I haven’t seen that come up at all so am thinking it is unlikely.

If it's got spark and fuel then it can't possibly be the ignition switch you need to start really diagnosing things instead of just assuming it's getting fuel because it has pressure isn't going to get you anywhere, make sure you are getting injector pulse. Yes you have spark but is the spark happening at the right time? It's possible for a rotor tab to break and still spin just in wrong spot or for an pickup coil to be loose or just the whole distributor to be worn out. Also don't forget air going out a plugged off exhaust will definitely cause a no start
My go to is to hit it with starting fluid and if it trys to start you have a fuel issue and if it doesn't you have a spark or timing issue or possibly a compression issue
