Grinding noise front driver side wheel 91 pickup

Hello everyone I've recently been getting intermittent grinding on my front wheel I replaced caliper and brakes/rotors with no change I took the locking hub off the front today and found this gold metal material shown in pictures below but can't locate where it could be coming from anyone expirence this before? It doesn't feel like the wheel bearings out but it's hard to see.

If gold in color most likely what is called the steering knuckle bushings. There are 2 per side, inner and outer. The outer half shaft end rides in them. With that much wear the wheels bearing should also be replaced. They don't look to good in picture.

I don't know if AndyA is right (sounds like he is), but here's a drawing that shows the location of those bushings. http://web.archive.org/web/201102060...15componen.pdf
