I know people have put 4runner hard tops on pickups with some modifications. Would a Softopper for a 88 4runner work with an 88 long bed pickup (Reg Cab)? Any modifications needed? Not sure of dimensions but it seems like the two are fairly similar. Reason I’m wondering is the softopper for the 4runner has windows and seems to sit more flush with the cab. Also, can anyone tell me if the Softopper for the pickups block the rear window? Id like to be able to have my dog in the bed for long trips and allow him to poke his head through the rear window if he wants. Any advice or maybe a different brand top recommendation?

 

Softopper website shows a top for a 1988 Toyota pickup 6.3ft bed and one for a 7.2ft bed.

The 4runner top which I have, I don't think would work well on a pickup due to way front end mounts to the existing mounting holes for the hard top. I can see in pictures that pickup version has an additional hoop at front to form that front edge.
