Fuel Injector Noid Light 22RE

Trying to troubleshoot a poor, but running 22RE engine. One of the steps I took was to put a noid light on the injector wires and crank the truck (coil wire disconnected so it wouldn't try to fire) At first I thought I had no pulse, but the truck does start and run. It took me turning off all the lights in the garage and wrapping my hands around the light and getting my eye right up to it to see the faintest glow pulsing from the light. Why might my light be dim like that? I have a sinking feeling this may be the cause for it being poor running.

I am wondering if this would have anything to do with the weird resister box thing on the fender well that the wiring plugs into making this normal? I tried with a spare one and had the exact same results, so, either normal or not part of the issue. I also tried another ECU with the same result. I did recently replace the injector plugs and a large portion of the wires trying to fix this, it has been an ongoing issue for a while now.

For those that will ask, the overall issue I am trying to remedy is poor running power, and the exhaust temp on cylinders 2 and 4 is half of what it is on 1 and 3.... about 490 exhaust temp on 1 and 3, only ~200 on 2 and 4. Many issues, just working them one at a time and diagnosing each separately. That is what led me to checking the injector wiring/pulse.... I get the same dim light on all 4.

22RE injectors batch fire. That is, all injectors spray at the same time.

Have you examined the strainers on your injectors for debris?? Maybe some are more plugged up than others.

What's the fuel pressure??

I had my injectors rebuilt by LC Engineering this spring just to ensure that was not the issue. The light is in place prior to the injector because I wanted to check that the injectors were actually getting a fire pulse.

Noid lights aren't designed to work that way. Your injectors have much, much lower resistance than the noid light, so you're essentially shorting out the light.

Which is why the text color is so whacked. When you cut-and-paste here, something weird happens to text color. To fix it (if you care), highlight all the text, and change the text color to automatic.
