So I’d appreciate it somebody could school me on this. I’ve got a stock 1994 DLX 4x4 that I’m currently working on. Ultimately I’d like to do the 3.4 swap. With that in mind and while I don’t currently have a bed for the truck and the interior out I’m considering adding a body lift. I’ve read several different forums, some say a 2” lift is needed to clear the supercharged 3.4 some claim 1” is all that needed. Today I found a kit that only raises the body 3/8” and says if used with factory motor mounts everything will clear but I believe that was probably not for the supercharger version. Anyway I’d appreciate any feedback. Picture of the truck currently.
2" should be pretty good, especially if you use your own body mounts or lower the factory (3.0) ones. You might have to trim away at the inner hood bracing, especially around the SC pulley.
I did a 2" to fit mine, and also some shifter things. I had origionally installed a 4Crawler kit, but the bolts loosened and bolts and spacers bent and cracked. Not a lot, but I noticed it when I took off the front bumper. I have since replaced the main mounts with poly bushings and 2x4x0.25" tubing and oversized grade-8 hardware. I have lots of pictures here on what all I did. Beefy, and I can still work on it and swap out parts when needed.
