Ac compressor wont disengage
I have a 87 runner 4x4 22re. Im the 2nd owner, the previous owner had a ac aftermarket add on, this model didnt come with ac, recently my compressor went out so i went ahead and bought an upgrade package on ebay to change most of the components out. None of my components are oem or look that similar to oem. I changed the expansion valve, compressor, condenser, and receiver drier.
So my problem is, after i vacuumed the system with the new parts installed, i turned on my truck to fill the system with r134, and it barely took half of 1 small can before it hit 30psi... It didnt seem right at first since the whole system was dry, i was expecting it to take more, however it blows pretty cold... My problem is my clutch on the ac compressor wont disengage, It will only disengage if i hit the ac button and turn it off, but with the button on it will stay engaged forever and wont click off, the compressor is new and not a remanufactured so i dont know if i got a faulty one. I dont want to burn out my compressor or freeze my lines so if anyone knows whats wrong with it or has an idea let me know, it was working fine with the old compressor until the old one froze. Im pretty sure all my electricals and fuses are good and not blown but i dont know where to start to trouble shoot, it would be nice if i can get some help and lead in the right direction.

If you really think the problem is with the replacement compressor, disconnect the wire to the clutch. If it remains engaged without current to the clutch, the clutch isn't adjusted correctly and you should just replace the whole unit.
Otherwise, it's like any diagnosis. If your problem is upstream in your unidentified after-market controller, I'm not sure how you could find help here.
