Swapped Transmission mount, got P0171 Code.

4runner 1996 2.7L 5spd Manual

I decided to change my rear transmission mount but forgot to support the transmission before taking out the crossmember.
The transmission ended up dropping a bit so I think this is where the damage might've happened.

So immediately after, the car started having

P0171 showing
Extremely bad idle (dies often)
Lurches badly in gear until 2k and lurches a bit around 3k
Car refuses to go past 3k rpm in gear
Rpm in neutral tops out at 3k rpm
Sluggish initial throttle response
Loss of power

Is there a wire in the back for a sensor I might've damaged?

Any help would be appreciated.

I'd be looking at the O2 sensors that are on the exhaust pipe in that area. One before the catalytic convertor, one after it.

I'm not sure that it's the same, but my 96-2002 FSM has a pretty big section on P0171 and P0172 codes.
Do you need me to post those pages?
Basically, P0171 is the fuel trim too rich error code. There's a whole list of what to test, and how to test it.
Let me know.
One confusing thing in the FSM is that the troubleshooting chart says P0171 is RICH, but the notes below the chart says it's the LEAN condition. I don't know if it's a typo or what.
Anywho, let me know. Best I can do is take a screencap of the pages, and post them as JPGs, if that's any help.

Good luck to you!

Yeah I'm thinking I damaged some wires/connections when the tranny dropped ~5 inches

Haha never mind guys. The main air intake hose came off because I forgot to tighten it couple weeks back. Must have came off when the tranny dropped.

Thanks for the suggestions! Ended up inspecting O2 sensors and MAF so no big deal.

As silly as it can make you feel, I know the feeling of relief that comes with that kind of discovery! Glad that's all it was.

Glad you fingered it out!

At least you got those inspections, that you should do every so often, out of the way. Only another 10,000 checks and inspections to go
Have fun!
