88 4Runner 22re to v6 brake upgrade.

I’m running 35s on my 88 4Runner and the brakes are awful, they could just be old but I was looking to do a upgrade with the v6 cylinder calipers and rotors, my question is, is that all I need? And should everything bolt up if I get all the same year parts but just for the v6 model, I know I’ll need to bend the line that connects the cylinder.

I updated my 90 pickup 4cyl to v6 calipers when my calipers seized with no issues years ago. You will need to bleed your brakes. I don't remember having to bend the line though.

Good thread. I dont get the rear disc swap thing either. Seems like people love working on their trucks more than they like driving them.
but what do i know?

The v6 Upgrades do sound cool though if you haul or tow or youre going through the brakes anyways. I agree that upgrading the calipers should also get an upgrade MC and booster. I bet you could also get good results with just a v6 MC and booster, if the travel distance can be tuned right.

My 2 cents..
