V6 Brake Upgrade
Most of the threads I've searched on that do this upgrade have trucks from like 81-85. Are 86-94 brakes, master cylinder, and brake booster all the same? Or do I-4 and V6 still have their own.
Just wondering because I'm wanting to upgrade my 91' Pickups 22re brakes and if the V6 upgrade will work; I'd like to do it. Also I would like to know if the master cylinder already already comes with the 1" bore or if it is only in the V6 models. Will be ordering rear disc brakes and need to get everything sorted out.

you will want the v6 master cylinder and calipers. the booster may be different if you dont have the double. as far as rear disc swap you will have to decide about the parking brake. either use the gm calipers in some swap kits or a tcae mounted brake or none at all. good luck

got my 1" bore aisan master cyl. and rear discs from trail gear.
my v6 front calipers and rotors came from a 95 v6 runner at a local pick and pull.
the difference is the size of the pistons in the caliper, the 4cyl has two large and two small pistons, the v6 has all four the same size.
you can go with skye man. brake kit with your own gm calipers that have e-brake, or get a transfer case e-brake from all pro offroad.
i have brakes that are plenty strong, but are not touchy for ice and snow.

Check your local junk yard for the master. I got one from an fj80 for an easy $20. When I added the v6 calipers on my '86 4runner I had to trim the back metal protecting plate, so be ready to do that too.
