1990 Toyota 3.0 V6 no cold air from ac

I went to go try my a/c the other day and no luck...

The compressor kicks on like it should and the engine steps up in rpm but no cold air comes out of the vent.
I checked the fuses behind the glove box and also felt the ac lines under the hood.
The small line going into the cab is cold to the touch around the hot engine bay.
Not too sure what to do next. I haven't checked for a leak and have not put guages on the truck yet to see the lines yet. I was planning on doing that next. The truck just got not new belts thrown on after my fan bearing failed.
The truck is an r12 system. It has not been converted to r134a yet. The ac was blowing cold when it was over 100 degrees out last summer.

Working a/c in a 29-year old truck? OMG!

Welcome to YotaTech! My guess is a leak; the gauges will tell. If you don't have a set yet, the ones from Harbor Freight are pretty good. Some Auto Parts stores will loan you a set (though, frankly, I would be a little suspicious of any sort of loaner measurement equipment.)

Here's everything I know about air conditioning: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...-r134a-284801/

Yea I got 29 years out of the old R12 system. I always made sure to turn the compressor off for a few minutes before I would shut down the car.

My Fan bearing when out back in Jan of 2020. They had to replace the fan bearing bracket, pulleys, fan, fan clutch, shroud, and belts too. I always wondered if this ever played a role in the AC failing. I never bothered to test out the AC but when I tried it in march that is when I realized that something was wrong with the Air.

I read your post about the AC. Your right about switching to an R134a system.

I also happen to be located in the east bay. I'm in the livermore/dublin/pleasanton area.
