We are searching a “throttle opener” part for a 4Runner 1993 manual transmission. We don’t find the part number or information to get this part. We are testing the throttle body of the 3VZE engine.
Throttle opener the part with the red hose. We thank you so much for your help.
We're all curious here; do you have a problem that a replacement throttle opener would address? My understanding is that it prevents "dieseling" when the engine is shut off http://www.cygnusx1.net/Media/Supra/...taTech/h21.pdf , so that could be the problem you're working on.
Everything began with a problem with the knock sensor. You have to take apart many things to reach the knock sensor. Finally, we change knock sensor and cable. We have the 93 4Runner (140K miles) since new, we imported from USA to Colombia. We had never cleaned the throttle body and seemed a good time to do that. We are trying to understand each part of the throttle body. Most of the parts are clear after reading manuals and internet articles. We learn TPS, DP, adjustment etc. When we look for information about “throttle body” we do not find any information. Looks that the "throttle opener" is ok because it holds the vacuum, we did vacuum with a syringe and it hold the vacuum and moves the piston. However, we wonder if later we have to replace this part how we can get it, do we have to replace the whole throttle body?
Looks that the "throttle opener" is a mysterious topic. Sorry about our poor English is not our first language.
