Has anyone replaced a 3 pin tps and throttle body with a 4 pin tps and throttle body. Obviously you would need to wire the 4 pin into the harness. 96 3.4 - 4 pin tps. 97 3.4 - 3 pin tps. If you have successfully done this i would like to hear from you. Thanks.

I did do this. The 4th wire that i did not use goes to the cruise control. My 3.4 is in a 88 4runner so i did not need this wire anyway. I dont know how far you have got on this but be aware you have to change throttle body as the 4 pin tps will not bolt to a 3 pin throttle body. I will look for my notes on wire colors from one to the other later today and let you know if you would like.

 

Yes I ended up having to go to a different throttle body so I could hook up the vacuum advance, hence the reason for the switch from a 4 pin to a 3 pin tps, if you are able to find out which wire I do not need that would be a great help!

 

The previous owner set it up where I had a engine with a 1984 vaccume advance system and other engine components yet he had a 1986 throttle body, tps, and tps pigtail

 

I have a 3.4 in my 88 4runner not a 3.0 or 22r. Afraid i cant help on this one sorry.
