Got a hair puller here. Running only when choked

85 pickup 22r will only run when choked. Fresh rebuild. When throttle is giving and choke is disengaged. Soon as it gets to idle it dies. Any info is greatly appreciated

What EFI said, clogged jets or carb adjustment, it's not getting enough fuel at idle. When you apply the choke it richens up the mixture.

+3 on it starving for fuel & carb adjustments. Could be blocked idle passages/jet, blocked fuel filter, idle speed set too low, float set too low, etc. Could also be a fuel delivery problem. Hard to say with the limited info you gave.
