I'm considering removing the factory bed from my 94 pickup and replacing it with a flatbed.
The flatbed would be much more beneficial for me as far as work goes.
My question to everyone here is, what is a roundabout good asking price to start with in my bed?
Its in what I would consider to be pretty good shape. I've included the pictures I currently have of it.
Inside is in good shape as well, but there are a couple of small rust holes. Nothing larger than a half dollar though.
Thank you for any input.
I really don't have a good idea on an asking price, but I do know that the value is going to depend on both condition and location.
If you live in the rust belt and have a very nice condition bed, it would be worth more there than in a place where rust isn't all that common (like the Pacific Northwest).
I gotcha. I live in Northern Kentucky. Most 90’s vehicles here are beyond rusted.
and if you can even find these trucks, they’re absolutely destroyed so it’s a damn good find.
Unless you need the money from the sale of the bed, and/or don't have room to store the bed... I'd store the bed. If you ever want to go back to a bed or sell the truck, it might be worth more to you then, as opposed to selling it now.
And ^that^ is from a guy who would love to have that bed! My new-to-me '84 did not come with a bed. It has a very well-made flatbed (PO is career fabricator/welder) that I like and will use at least for now. But, I am going to keep my eye out for a bed.
That makes sense. I have room to store it. Just thought someone else may end up appreciating it more lol. But with that line of thinking I’ll probably store it up.
I’ll be building my own flatbed as well. I’ve done welding and fabrication for around 15+ years. 6+ Years for work specifically.
Since I’m building it myself I can build it to suit me the best way possible.
