Hello,
I'm new to the site. I have an 85 4x4 with a 22r. the issue I'm having is that it when I start it it will idle, but when drive it I'll about a half mile and it dies. sometimes it starts right back other times I may have to sit for 10-15 minutes till it will start again. then runs a half mile and dies. but it will idle for ever. Thanks for your help.

 

Ok just what have you done to try and fix the problem so far ??

My first thought is a fuel related problem not getting enough under load to keep the engine running

Now is it the filter the pump or the carburetor

Getting any black smoke ??

Is this a new truck to you ?? Did this problem just start??
