First head gasket rebuild, almost.

In the middle of my first head gasket rebuild...
At least that's what I thought. After getting to hg, I couldn't notice any obvious breaks. however, did notice the timing chain plastic guard had broken.
Is that where I started getting coolant and oil mixed?

Any idea folks?
Thanks for ya time

Check your timing chain cover for wear through the cover. The guides break and chew holes through the cover. Also check real closely between each valve seat in the head. I have just finished putting mine back together after thinking I had a bad HG. It wasn't the head gasket.
