I posted some pictures of my new to me 82 4x4. Got a factory service manual for it the sticker inside the hood says made to 82 standards. My door info say Oct 81. M y service manual clearly shows a computer on the passenger side kick panel. We have searched every inch and there is no computer period and no wiring hookup for one. Mine just has a Emissions control module on the drivers kick panel. So maybe on one shipped to the USA in January of 82 it may have a computer.
Would anyone have a copy of the 81electrical system that would be willing to email it to me?
Thanks
As mentioned, what is it you are looking for? If you have a 22r you have an emissions control computer, quite a bit different than an ECU (engine control module) which I'm pretty sure is on the right side of the vehicle.
Drivers side vs passenger side.. Without knowing which side of the road you drive on these are useless terms.. You have a left hand and a right hand, your vehicle has a left side and a right side both are references to the forward and aft locations. If you do not use the established nomenclature/standards you're not allowed to complain when people look at you confused.

If you just want diagrams they are available on line, try the autozone repair guides. They aren't pretty but they are generally plenty if data to get you where you need to go.
Ok I can see the confusion. Standing in front of the truck looking at it. The right side which is the drivers side has a small modual marked emission control, 89550-35170.
Then 81 22r Calif. This is mounted on the right kick panel. The left side should have a computer module but it doesn't and no wiring for one. But it does have a warning buzzer mounted there. That's why I think it is really an 81. Maybe the 81 model had no computer?
I think I found it in the 82 manual. These only had a computer mounted on the left kick panel if it came equipped with a cruise control. Which mine doesn't have. The right kick panel has the emission control module. Which in the manual is also referred to as a computer.
