ok guys ive been readng your post for mechanical information and i gota admit some not all but most of you guys are a freaking genius when it comes to these badass toyota. i need help with my badass 1987 toyota 22re 1 ton dully. i mistakenly took my motor to the equivalent street corner taco stand machine shop big mistake, the jackass machinist / taco vendor begged me to let him install his crap taiwanese itm parts so he can make extra money on the rebuild. i was orignally gona get all my parts from engbuilder. long story short i just installed the motor and on first start up the timing chain was rubbing on the bottom of the timing cover buy the oil pump drive gear area, i installed drive gear and oil pump and rest of drive accessories. i disassembled the timing cover and found the timing chain tensioner had the lower bolt left loose ( MY QUESTION FINALLY HERE TO YOU GUYS IS WOULD THAT LOOSE BOLT CAUSE THE CHAIN TO RUB AGAINST COVER?). The machine shop says it happened because i installed oil pump drive gear on backwards but you guys know its physically im possible to install that way and run it. Please guys help me out need to fix truck for work and deal with machine shop in small claims court i have about $1800.00 into this rebuild and i cant even leave my driveway
