22 re rebuild and fuel issues
Hey guys, first of all.. GREAT site here with an abundance of info.. So last October I bought my son a 93 Toyota truck with a 22re motor with anticipation that it would be a 1-2 month rebuild. I had block bead blasted, I bought new head, pistons, crank turned matching bearings, etc.. Then I got very sick for about 2 months and it got pushed to the back burner.. The motor has been put together for about 7 months now.(there's the backstory).
now I am having a time remembering where it all goes. As of now, motor is installed, wiring 95% hooked up (except the sensors on valve cover, wiring harness didn't go as expected). My biggest issues are these..
1) fuel pressure regulator, I have the bigger hose from carbon canister on Passenger side firewall connected to the bottom nipple as the return to tank line. What line goes in top???. I assume that just needs a vacuum off if the vac diaphragm?
2) just about center of the block on the passenger side is a (check valve??) of some sort that when I try to start motor it gushes gasoline.. It's about center and below of and is connected to the intake manifold and has what appears to be a water port coming out of the same manifold and heading towards the radiator.. (Also need answers on that placement)..
3) does the sensors at top of valve cover have to be connected for a trial 15 second first start?? I am pretty certain that I have the motor built securely and timed correctly but it wants to start sooo bad but just cranks fast like it's trying but won't actually fly on it's own.. Great compression, fire, and super fuel pressure, but she just don't quite wanna go on her own and with gas pouring out of the aforementioned valve I don't wanna set the dang thing on fire,lol.. I don't have the connecting tube to the air box installed yet so I can spray fuel straight into the intake if need be.
Guys, thanks in advance for any help or suggestions!!!

The best thing is to post pictures of what your trying to describe
With the air intake disconnected the fuel pump will not turn on .
Just how did you test your fuel pressure ??
If possible get the Factory Service Manual for the year truck you have.
