I wanted to join the Zuk mod me too movement, so I went for the no cut, no weld option, Black Magic coil springs, 5" x 12" 125 lbs.
The rear's 3.15 inches higher now. Happy with the way the truck looks and the way it rides, except for some noises once in a while.

The rear's a little bit too high now, I think my 4R leaf spring're not that bad. Anyway I expect the coil springs settle and also see some changes with the hard top on. I can always shorten the coils springs or crank a few turns the t-bars to level the truck.
The soft top came with my 4R, it's an old Cam-Back model in very good shape, it's not correctly installed in those pics, the roof shouldn't be hanging, I didn't fasten the straps and I didn't fasten the tailgate part, it has a rope for that purpose.
I didn't expect to use it but I wanted to try it a couple of times before selling it. That was the plan. We can't live without it now, we love it.
I also used 12", 125 lb/inch springs but 3.5"
So yours wrapped around the upper bump-stop just right? Pics of mounting please?
It's wrapped around the upper bump-stop, but doesn't touch the frame, as you can see in the photo.
I used a pair of coil compressors and the Toyota bottle jack between the frame and the leaf springs, 30 minutes per side, it was easy mod, fast result.
A little update: We went for an off road ride yesterday afternoon, and we couldn't hear any noise from the coil springs.
Cool. Looks typical of the no-cut mod. Spring around the bump-stop may stretch and settle after some time. Noise probably comes from spring stretching and settling around the bump-stop.
Hoping others who've done it could chime in.

Looks so simple that it should be a sin Leave the rear high....looks good that way. And if you load it down with camping gear it won't appear saggy at all. You will need longer shocks I see. Based on the +3 inch lift with 125 pounder Black Magic coils......that would mean your Runner must be riding as smooth as glass I would think. And you will wait at least 20 years if you expect it to settle....just telling you now so work on getting the front a little higher.
My buddy's truck down in Tucson...... we did a single coil for him.....14 years ago. His brand new (in 2004)Allpro 5 inch leafpacks had lost about 3 inches of their lift in only 2 months time. He was the guinea pig for the center coil and he says there is no noticeable loss of lift since we did it back in 2004!! and it rides soft also. And no noises.

You're right! I didn't notice the red 4Runner parked next to mine!
I found another 4Runner first gen fan in the country, that day was our first meeting, we're 2 now, we can create a club or something.
The first gen 4R were imported with those stripes, all of them have them, I've see them in blue and red, no more options as far as I know. The red one in the red, grey, white, tan 4Rs, and the blue one in the blue and light blue 4Rs.

Copy that! New longer shocks for the rear. I can't do a lot in the front, I don't think bj spacer're good idea, so I'm going to start cranking t-bars.
It rides very nice, we're happy with that, and no noises since yesterday ride, but I'd do different next time, replace the rubber bumper stop with something like this:

The reason is I don't think my 4R's going to pass the official technical test with the current set up. I have to wait a year to the next test, I'll decide then.

Re rear shock, I suggest you check actual travel with shocks off, (i.e., raise one rear wheel until the other is in the air, and measure distance between shock mount posts for both the compressed and the stretched sides. Switch sides.) Determine which shock based on that travel.

I'm not sure why these pictures are blurry. They are fine on my computer. I always forget to take pics when we are in the middle of a project. We did the no cut Zuk last October and still don't have any creak or squeak. The springs were new take offs from a Jeep I got for $10. They were 16" and my son cut them to 12" We used two Toyota jacks, Harbor Freight spring compressors and a couple of short pieces of 4x4. He has since cranked the T bars to even out the front. You might be able to see the truck gained about 2.5" in height; from 34.5" to 37" Originally the sag was not really too bad. It looks better though.
