Block drain fitting

Okay,
I searched all over the internet and couldn't find the answer.
What is the size and pitch of the block coolant valve fitting? The actual valve that screws into the block on the driver's side. I want to install an aftermarket temperature gauge and want to put the sender there.....help!
BTW it's a 22RE

Technicly. it is a Japanese Industrial Standard thread (JIS), which can be hard to find:: but functionally identical to BSPT, (British standard pipe, tapered'); so..

The answer is::: 3/8" BSPT.

3/8 BSPT is 19 threads per inch, while ordinary American NPT is 18 threads per inch.

Thanks,
Upon further thought, I decided to go with a hose adapter at the upper radiator hose, I feel it will be at it's hottest before entering the radiator.
Factory gauge like most of them is giving me issues have several SR5 clusters and all read different!
