loose power steering belt

loose power steering belt on my 1994 Toyota pickup v6 3.0. Belt is brand new, and power steering pump/reservoir is in the maxed out(tightest) position not being able to tighten any further?

Then someone gave you the wrong belt!!

It might have been labeled wrong hanging in the wrong spot .

take it back get a smaller one if you have a good relationship with the parts store they might take it back

FWIW, RockAuto says it should be a 48.1" ("effective length") belt. http://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo....272484&jsn=357

You saved the sleeve from the belt, didn't you?
