Question Carbon deposits...?

My 3.slow doesn't usually see much above 3K rpms. I was wondering if I should do a run or two at WOT to get rid of the carbon deposits. How many runs should I make? How often?

I don't like to push my vehicles all the way but I know it's needed every once and a while. I'm just afraid that I'm going to break something.

Thanks

Drop in a bottle of BG 44k or Sea Foam in there and it should be fine. Have you ever run any fuel injector cleaner since you've had it? I usually put a bottle in every oil change. Use the search function if you're unsure of what BG 44k is or Sea Foam.

I just ran through a bottle of BG44K. I was just wondering how many people beat on the vehicles to get out the carbon deposits.

If you're dumping it into the gas tank, it just cleans out the fuel lines, but for a more complete job, suck some seafoam in the brake booster line, and then definitly drive the living crap out of that truck for a bit. That clear up the upper heads of carbon buildup, and it does no harm Here's my post on how I used it in my Honda, but same principle applies to the 4Runner too.

The key is to make sure the truck is warmed up to operating temperature when doing this, and you won't break anything.
