it depends; I think Pirate 4x4 has a chart, just google or yahoo it and you will find one.

But what engine do you have??? If you have a 22re you need a rare bellhousing to go to an r series trans. I have one, paid dearly for it. R151 is looking for a hen with teeth. Most common is w56x.

if you have a v6 think about engine swaps. My choice would be an SBC / 700r4 with an AA adapter to a gear drive xfer case.

I have a stick v6 bell housing and clutch (near new) if you want one.

Use -3an hose & adapters for you clutch line.

R150 comes with a chain drive case, you need an expensive adapter to get to gear drive, and doubt extremely you will get the correct toyota one.

If you want contact me, be glad to yap about your project!

Do NOT USE -4

I need to fix that on mine... barely enough pedal travel....

!
My "understanding" - which may be way wrong - is that the over seas Parado came with an R151 with a GEAR drive right and side drop transfer (aka RF1A )

Thus, its "easier" to get the R151/RF1A these days via importers (aka call Marlin)

Sit down before you hear the price however... ($650 core charge, + $1,199 rebuild)
I dunno if Marlin will sell the rebuild trans WITHOUT a core return

It's the 22RTE bell housing (to get an R series trans to a 22RE) that is rare

I vaguely recall that Rodger Brown (circa late 1990s) went the $$$ route with the adapters to use an R150 Trans, and the Marlin Adapter plate instead of an R151.

The idea was that R150 trans were "everywhere" and cheap at the junkyards - whereas the R151 was a $$$ unit / rebuild
So for "expedition" (at least in North America), parts sourcing was easier with the R150 series trans

Now, I believe (off the cuff - I should look it up but Im lazy) that there are TWO differetn R150 trans - input snout length differences, so that the "universal replacement" concept is less viable...

Red face

OP are you any where close to Eastern Pa

I have two of the R151F Transmissions with Transfer cases I most likely will never use

I was going to use one for my 3.4 Swap which might not happen.
