Ground Clearence 2000 vs. 1999

I was lookin at my friends 99 4runner and noticed it looks like he has about a few more inches of ground clearence on me. I put a flashlight under mine and under his and on his it missed the skid plate on mine it wouldn't even fit under the skid plate. It also looks like his sits higher then mine. Anyone have any ideas?? We both have SR5's its just his is a 99 and mine is a 00.

Any help guys?

i thought those years would be the same, or if any different, only by a something like half an inch or something.

are you sure there's no lifts involved? same size tires? measured on the same even, level ground?

could it be this?

2 wheel or 4wd? both sit a different heights.

are the shocks and springs stock or aftermarket. certain brands of shocks like bilstein add about an inch or so of additional lift with no other modification. and of course springs dont forget the springs.

amdman,
Me and my friend have the same situation. Mine is a 99 SR5, and his is a 00 SR5. Both stock tires (even the brand name is the same, if it makes any difference), no lifts, stock shocks, but my runner stood a little higher than his.
He was asking me the same question you are asking...I have no clue

Looks like I have about 9 3/4 on the back axle and 8 3/4's on the very bottom of the front skid plate.

Later guys.
