Im installing OEM cruise control into a 1998 3RZ 4runner with manual transmission. The truck didn't come with one from the factory. It's not pre-wired for cruise control either.
I got ALL the parts needed from a junk yard (not easy, since 3RZ and 5VZ cruise components are COMPLETELY different, and most 3RZ trucks didn't have cruise), but I need the wiring diagram to put it all together. There is about 2 dozen wires going into the cruise control ECU! Going to be a fun project...

Either way, if anyone has the wiring diagram, please let me know. I have one for 2000-2002 trucks, but its completely different because 2000 trucks never came with either 3RZ or manual tranny.

The diagram you posted seems to be specific to 5VZ. The 3RZ wiring is significantly different. On 3RZ, the cruise actuator has 7 wires going to it, while the 5VZ actuator only has 4.

Would you happen to have the 3rz diagram by any chance?

As I've said earlier, the 4runner 3RZ cruise actuator connector has 7 wires. The actuator on the 3RZ diagram that you posted is the same one as the 5VZ and has 4 wires.

 

No, that is the 1998 3RZ 4Runner CC EWD from Toyota TIS as far as I know. I got it from another forum member who has a '98. '99 also has 4 wires. '97 has the seven wires so here is that one:

The Toyota EPC that I have shows the 7-wire actuator being used up to 08/1997 production date. These trucks would be sold as 1998 models. This is also confirmed by the fact that I pulled this actuator from a 1998 truck.
Perhaps early "1998" trucks used the 7 wire actuator, and late 1998 ones used the 4 wire.

Actually, the MY 1998 trucks would be those made from 08/1997 on. Before that, they would be MY 1997. So that info would confirm 1998 as having the 4-wire.

Since you have both schematics for what it is worth the hard copy EWD for the 98 4runner shows a 4 pin connector for the cruise control actuator and it is black and this is for the 3rz

I don`t have cruise control in any of my 4x4 vehicles I never drive where it might be used
