Will a taco 3rd member fit a 1999 2wd 4runner rear

I have a chance to buy a third member form a 2000 Tacoma.Would it fit a 1999 2wd 4Runner rearend.

i belive it will as long as the taco it came from was a trd, the non trd taco's came with a "bigger" ring gear and slighly different housing bolt pattern

The gear will be the same size, the bearings are different.

I think the Runner should have an 8" diff. The Taco will have it as long as it is TRD which ought to mean it is locked.

The only way it'll fit (without mods) is if both had the electric locker. If both are unlocked, then the Tacoma has a 8.4" diff and the 4Runner a 8". If the Tacoma has the 8" elocker, it can be made to fit the 8" 4Runner housing but requires mod to the housing.
