Is there any tire out there that is bigger, preferably taller than a 33-12.50 but shorter than a 35-12.50?
I dont want it to be any skinnier than 12inches. I really want to run a bigger tire than a 305/70R16 (32.8-12-16) but i wont be able to run 315/75R16 (34.6-12.4-16) if i want to be able to do moderate 4wheeling without doing all of sschaefer3's mods. Ideally i would like to get a 305/75R16 (34-12-16) or a 315/70R16 (33.4-12.4-16) but the only tires i can find in either of these sizes are Goodyear ATS and Remington wide brutes. The latter of these doesnt sound very high quality either. I have also considered the Superswamper LTB's at 33-13.50-16 but i figure I will wear these out in less than a year as i have with all my other swampers. So what do yall think. Do they make anyother tires within my specifications??

I think Super Swampers are the only company that makes 34" tall tires. I could be wrong though.

 

I do believe that the super swamper Trxus radial m/t's come in 34/12.50.

sigman is right they do come in 34-12.50 and these are probably the best street tire interco makes.

 

What is wrong with 285's if you do not want the hassles with 315's? Does that mean you do not want to do gears? Lockers will get you farther than bigger tires.

I have wheeled, following him on 285's on several occassions. Of the two times he got in trouble, one was my bad spot, the other was a bad line. In neither instance were tires the sole culprit.

 

I agree, I have had them for almost two years. They are kinda quite on the street, and do good offroad. I would recommend them.

Hello RedRunner, I understand you really like your trxus m/t tires. You said
you have had them on for two years now, I was just wondering how they
have been wearing on your truck. Do you do much highway traveling ?
I recently almost bought some myself, but I travel quite a bit back and
forth to work on highways and was not sure how well they would hold up.
One guy I work with told me the rubber was real soft and that they would
not hold up.

I just went from 285/75/16 dunlops to 305/70/16 MT/R's. The 305's look much bigger. I was in the same jam as you I wanted bigger than a 33 but smaller than 34.5. But when you think about it it is only 1 inche big deal. Most people could never tell and I dont think the 0.5 inche clearance gain will make a big difference.

FYI: I have 4.88 gears for the FJ-62 in the garage right now, and 35's are going on that thing.

Once you go 35 you NEVER go back.

 

Actually on Chinamans they were, your real live 33's blew the 285's out of the water.

315's are where it's at. I could never be happier even with my AT tread.

 

I mostly drive city, but do some highway driving. They are wearing pretty good. I have put over 10K miles on them, and I love them. They aren't to loud on the street, they flex well, and they look good(IMHO), and they have good side lugs. What else, they clean good in the mud(only taken them in the mud a couple of times). They are overall I would say a good bang for the buck. I got mine for $106 a piece.

That's one heck of a price. Where did you get your tires from ?

 

I got from America's Tire Co. 106.95 each, Total was 427 w/ mounting and balancing. I also got free rotation and balancing for life
