I'm trying to figure out how these connect for smog check.
I circled the pipes to where they should connect.
Three options for red, yellow, and white:
1. air/smog pump
2. air intake assy
3. some pipe coming from behind the engine

I just removed mine which looked very similar on my 78. If I remember correctly I believe it was:

Red- Smog Pump
Yellow- Air Filter
White- Exhaust manifold (tube behind engine)

 

thanks, im trying to smog, do you think i still need the vacuum piping assembly in order for this part to work?

 

Yes I am fairly sure you will need all piping for it to work. Plus if you're in CA pretty sure they do a fairly extensive visual inspection as well.

 

do you know any good salvage yard or oem parts website i could get some parts?

Not particularly, I'd imagine most of the parts are crazy expensive from the dealer. I'd keep a close eye on the junkyards, maybe find a truck when it first comes in the junkyard and grab all the parts you need
