88 22re won't start

I have an 1988 Toyota pickup 4x4 with 22RE

I got this truck for $200 from a friend that had the motor out. I know it ran before but he wanted to replace head gasket and for whatever reason he pulled the whole motor.
Regardless I had nothing to do with that but I Put it all back together checked and replaced some things (new head, timing chain guides, chain, front cover, oil pump, water pump)

I'm 99% sure the timing chain is correct
I have spark (tested by grounding it outside the engine)
Ohm Tested the cold start timing switch
Ohm tested the cold start injector
Jumpered the fuel pump (it comes on)
Injectors have been sent to shop cleaned and rebuilt.
tried spraying starting fluid into intake.

I got it started and drove it one time (before all the test) about 2 miles round trip turned it off and now it will not start. It will turn over but will not start.

I've read probably 1,000 forums and YouTube videos trying to figure this problem out.
Please help!!!

How long did the truck set before you got it? Just because the pump is coming on, doesn't mean the fuel could be flowing. Todays fuel breaks down quick. If truck sat a while, it could of clogged the injectors, I have seen that happen. The filter can let small particles thru and clog them.

Is it trying to start when you put some starting fluid in the Intake?

Before I got it, it may have sat for a little over a month.

The crazy thing is it ran after I put it back together but I turned it off and it will not do anything now.
It's sat for 2 weeks now while trying everything I could think of.

I can here the fuel sort of hissing in the fuel rail when I jumper the pump.

It does not try to start with starting fluid just keeps turning over

You say you have spark ?/

It will not start with starting fluid ?? This means no spark or no compression.

Forget the key on the crank pulley ??

Now the crank turns but the cam does not

it moved enough to fubar the timing

distributor not turning easy to check

It did run .

Knock the coil wire out ?? In the process of moving around checking things.

Forget to put the Rotor back in I tend to do this all the time.

Get the plug wires on wrong ??

So I came across a forum the other day that this happened so I switched everything out.
I had spark but it was a yellow/white spark no blue one. So I checked the gap and made sure it was right and still tiny yellowish spark. Changed spark plug, wires and caps even tho they are basically brand new. fired on the first try.

Either like you said I had knocked something loose or I had some sort of weak spark possibly a bad wire or something I'm not sure.

I'm driving her now thanks for the help
