NO OIL PRESSURE, 0 pickup/pressure..??
So I know my way around a 3vze pretty well, but this one has me stumped....
I have no oil pressure.
I noticed the oil gauge not working, tested sending unit, tested ok.
I removed the sending unit from block, and started the engine..NO oil came out of sending unit hole.
I then loosed the oil filter thinking its going to pour out when i start it..
NO OIL came out of oil filter
I pulled the engine and put on the stand, pulled the pan, thinking pickup is clogged...Nope, totally clean..
I pressure tested pickup tube, tested ok,
since I removed the pickup tube, I turned the block upside down, and poured oil directly into the oil pump, rotated by hand...and I DO GET OIL, coming out of oil filter hole...SO...ok why is OIL not going up the PICKUP TUBE???

Your pouring oil into the pump??
It very well may work in that direction but be so worn it will no longer draw oil from the pan let alone push it through the engine.
How did the measurements check out ??

I'm having an oil pressure issue as well, this is the best thread i could find to post it (maybe you all know of a better one) I just swapped a 3vze out of my 92 pickup into a 95 4runner and when i start the engine the oil pressure gauge goes to the middle but as it idles it slowly goes all the way back down? i'm not sure what could be causing it? sending unit?

I have mechanical gauges in all my vehicles
The electrical gauges are not real precise
At idle these engines don`t have all that much pressure they can be as low as 5 PSI at idle
